August 11, 2011

I hope everyone is having a great summer! I have been spending my days exploring many of the fun activities our area has to offer. I went cherry picking by Monmouth Battlefield Park, played volleyball on the beach, won tickets from a radio station to see Maroon 5 on the Today Show, and went to Great Adventure for the first time in my life. It has been an exciting summer, and there are still a few weeks left!

I have also been reading a lot. Some of you know I like to read a few books at a time. Right now I am reading The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara which has me looking at the Battle of Gettysburg in a whole new light, Abraham Lincoln by Ronald C. White Jr. (Did you know that Abraham Lincoln's great-great grandfather lived in Freehold?), and The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I hope you have been reading too.

Remember your summer projects. They are due when we come back to school. Email me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you have any questions about the projects.

Also, doublecheck the HSC from 8/10 to make sure you have the correct uniform.

Finally, for those future lawyers out there or if you just like to argue, we will be launching a debate team this year. I will have an organizational meeting very early  in the school year. Debate will be open to grades 6-8, and we will compete with other schools in the area.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I will see you in September
