6th Grade- For ILA, please do SSL48, and study for your Word Wisdom Quiz tomorrow. The words are listed on page 60 in your book. Also, by Monday, please read the story entitled "The Stone" on pages 30-37 in your Elements of Literature books, and respond to reading questions 2-6 on page 39. In Social Studies, remember that we have the assignment of creating 15 laws for our individual 'Empires' based off the "Code of Hammubrabi." The laws should also include the punishment for violating each one of them- this is due next Social Studies class.
8th Grade ILA- Complete SSL48, and questions 2-5 on page 81 of your Elements of Literature books in response to the reading from last night. If you have note completed the Word Wisdom stories from last week, please get these in immediately (see last weeks HW listings for the specifics).

6th Grade- Complete Simple Solutions Lesson 46, and finish writing the similes for the 10 words we are studying in Word Wisdom. There should be one simile for each word. Also, in your Social Studies books, please do questions 1-4 on page 124.
7th Grade- Make sure that your Thanksgiving Day journals are done- the topic was to write a journal pretending to be one of the original settlers coming off of the Mayflower, and describing what it is that you saw, and experienced at the very first Thanksgiving feast. Also, complete questions 1, and 3-6 on page 148 in your text book.
8th Grade ILA- Complete SSL46, as well as the work sheet that I handed out today at the end of class.

7th Grade- Complete the reading of pages 137-141 and answer questions 1, 3, 4, 5, 6. Please pay attention to the bold faced words and how they CONNECT to each other as this is what we are concentrating on this year.
8th Grade ILA- Write a short story (4-5 paragraphs) using the words from the most recent word list to demonstrate your understanding of the words. Also, Simple Solutions Lessons 42-44. All of this homework will be due by Monday the 26th.

8th Grade ILA- Simple Solutions Lesson 41, and pages 58 and 59 in your Word Wisdom books.
8th Grade Social Studies- Finish the journal from today in class (imagining yourself as 10 years old in 1810, and your family is moving west to Tennessee, describe what you believe Tennessee will be like and what you will see on your journey west) if you did not finish it. Also, read 419-423 and answer questions 1, 3, 4. Please keep track of all of the vocabulary terms, as there are a lot of them in this chapter and they will be very important in understanding the expansion of the country!

A three paragraph entry, introducing your character for the journal project that tells who you are, where you live, who is in your family, what your family does for a living, and what time of year it is. Any extra details, please feel free to include to make your character more clear for the rest of the project. Remember, the final project for the choice board (handed out in class) is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
